An IndiGo flight from Chandigarh to Mumbai got a bomb threat on Tuesday night. The threat came through a phone call to Mumbai’s airport helpline.
The plane landed safely at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Security teams checked the aircraft carefully but didn’t find anything dangerous. Police later confirmed it was a false alarm.
This is not the first time. Just last month, another IndiGo flight from Jaipur to Mumbai had a similar bomb scare, which also turned out to be fake.
Because of all these security threats, IndiGo had to cancel about 160 flights across the country. The airline is dealing with delays and extra checks after recent military action by India near the Pakistan border.
