Starship is likely to fly again in about 3-5 weeks, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said on Sunday. The revelation was made after the rocket’s Super Heavy Booster was moved to the launch pad at Starbase in Boca Chica, Texas for the fourth test flight.

Apart being launch ready, SpaceX will also have to get a launch approval for Starship from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), America’s aviation watchdog.
The company has already conducted a few static fire tests of the booster and the upper stage Ship.

When asked about the timeline on X, Musk said, “Probably 3 to 5 weeks. Objective is for the ship to get past max heating or at least further than last time.”
The last time, Starship flew the farthest ever and was able to execute an atmospheric re-entry, giving us thrilling glimpse of a plasma buildup on the upper stage ship.
The launch took place on March 14 and accomplished several milestones. However, it fell short of success as the rocket was unable to survive re-entry and exploded before its splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
Before the third test flight, Musk said that he hopes to launch the rocket six times this year. In one of the future tests, SpaceX will also carry out in-orbit propellant transfer of the upper stage Starship in preparations for missions to the Moon and eventually Mars.
Besides, Starship’s launch readiness will also decide the fate of NASA’s Artemis missions aimed at landing humans on the lunar surface. NASA has granted billions of dollars to SpaceX for building Starships. But the company is already late in the rocket’s development which forced NASA to push the launch of Artemis 3 from 2025 to at least 2027.
