Published

Phillip Schofield has reportedly offered his support to Holly Willoughby amid claims she was the target of a ‘kidnap plot’.

Former This Morning presenter Phillip, 61, is said to have reached out to his ex colleague over her “sickening” ordeal.

Mum-of-three Holly is said to have been under police guard at her London home after being informed about the alleged plot against her last week.

She was replaced on Thursday’s (October 5) episode of This Morning – and according to reports, may not return to TV screens until later this month.

Holly Willoughby news

A 36-year-old man was arrested by police and charged with soliciting to commit murder last week.

Gavin Plumb appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Friday (October 6) and was remanded in custody.

District Judge Caroline Dickson told him: “This is a really serious allegation.”

Now, according to the Mirror, Holly was “really happy” to hear from Phillip despite an alleged fallout between the TV personalities.

Their friendship is said to have been strained following revelations about his affair with a younger employee. Phillip quit This Morning and ITV in May after over 20 years of fronting the daytime series.

‘Phil was absolutely horrified’

A source is said to have told the Mirror: “Holly and Phil’s friendship was so close before the events of this year. Phil’s decision to reach out, and the welcome it has been received with by Holly, shows that there is still a bond there.”

They reportedly added: “The hope is they can regain some of the ground lost, and support each other again.”

They’ve so much history, and this is something you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.

Furthermore, an insider is quoted as saying: “Phil was absolutely horrified to hear she had been allegedly targeted in such a sickening way and decided to reach out to her, in spite of their lack of contact. He wanted her to know he was thinking of her and her family. They’ve so much history, and this is something you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.”

A rep for Phillip declined to comment when approached by ED!. A rep for Holly has been contacted for comment on the Mirror’s story.

When will Holly Willoughby be back on This Morning?

It has been reported Holly held telephone meetings with ITV bosses on Friday (October 6). And MailOnline claims sources have indicated she is unlikely to return to the show on Monday (October 9).

Additionally, it is suggested Holly may not be back on TV until after the half-term school holidays at the end of the month.

King Charles urged to rest like Kate amid cancer treatment

Published

King Charles has been urged to follow the lead of Princess Kate as the pair both continue treatment for cancer.

The royal family members announced their diagnoses earlier this year, just weeks apart.

Since then, with Kate ducking out of the spotlight entirely, the King had been taking a more relaxed approached to royal duties. However, in recent weeks, the monarch has appeared to be trying to insert himself back into his usual role.

And, after Camilla recently admitted her husband “won’t do what he is told”, Charles is being urged to take it slowly, much like his daughter-in-law.

King Charles’ cancer recovery: Time to slow down?

King Charles’ initial break from royal duties was short lived, as he quickly returned to appearing at events, including a Buckingham Palace garden party and an appearance at the Chelsea Flower Show.

The monarch has since taken a front-facing role at the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings and made a high-profile speech.

Another high-profile event, the Trooping The Colour ceremony, is just around the corner for the King. King Charles will be expected to inspect soldiers from the comfort of a carriage. The event marks the official birthday of the British sovereign.

There is support for the Princess of Wales and the approach she’s taken.

However, it appears that a large percentage of people are eager for the King to slow down. The Royal Record podcast host Svar Nanan-Sen discussed a recent poll of GB News viewers, who share these thoughts.

Svar explained: “I asked our GB News members if King Charles should slow down after Camilla’s health update. 74% [of those polled] voted yes, Charles should slow down. 21% voted no and 5% said they didn’t know. So three-quarters of our members would like to see the King take on fewer engagements during this period, and prioritise his health.”

‘Genuine concern’

He continued: “Something that I think we can also look at off the back of this poll is that there is support for the Princess of Wales and the approach she’s taken. We haven’t seen her conduct any royal engagements since December 2023. She said during her cancer announcement that she was going to prioritise her health. Maybe our viewers would like to see Charles take a similar approach.”

Royal correspondent Cameron Walker chimed in with his thoughts. He said: “I suppose the difference between the King and the Princess of Wales is the speculation and the horrible conspiracy theories online are all targeting the Princess of Wales rather than the King.

“I think it shows that there is genuine concern for our monarch. He’s in his seventies. We know he’s undergoing cancer treatment. His various staff members, and of course the Queen, have alluded to the fact that he is a bit of a workaholic. He doesn’t like sitting still.”

It comes after Queen Camilla made a comment about her husband’s health at her Queen’s Reading Room Festival. She reportedly told Jack Reacher author, Lee Child, that King Charles is “doing fine”. She also quipped that he “won’t do what he is told”.

Emmerdale stars Lewis Cope and Brahmdeo to leave soap

Published

Recently on Emmerdale, Nicky was thrown into a major storyline as Ethan Anderson led him to be put in a coma following a drink driving accident.

Nicky awoke from the coma but it turned out that it was Ethan’s time that was cut short.

Weeks after Ethan’s death, The Sun has now reported that Nicky and Suni are set to also leave the soap as actors Lewis Cope and Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana film their final scenes.

Emmerdale stars Lewis Cope and Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana quit

Over in the Dales, Ethan Anderson recently met his maker after collapsing in his house weeks after he put Nicky in a coma due to drink driving.

With Nicky finding out that Ruby was responsible for Ethan’s hit and run, he’s started pulling away from his family.

Next week will see Nicky suggest moving away from the Dales with Suni as he cuts ties with Ruby and Caleb.

These scenes will make way for both Nicky and Suni’s departure from the soap, reports claim.

A source informed The Sun that Lewis and Brahmdeo have already filmed their final scenes which will air this summer, revealing: “It’s not going to go unnoticed that three of the village’s gay characters have been written out within a matter of weeks of each other.

“The optics aren’t good especially when it’s pride month.

“It’s very unusual for three actors with the same character profile to leave at the same time.”

Emmerdale fans blast soap over three LGBTQ+ character exits

With reports circulating over the exit of two more LGBTQ+ characters just weeks after Ethan Anderson’s death, fans have now taken to social media to share their anger – especially considering it’s pride month.

One fan complained: “Wow so now two more gay characters leaving Emmerdale. Nicky & Suni unfortunately are not a priority for the writers. Ethan got killed off last month. June is Pride Month and Emmerdale producers clearly don’t know what to do with gay, male characters. They get treated like [bleep.]”

Another viewer added: “Ethan Dead, Matty in prison and Nicky and Suni are about to do one and all in Pride month too! Right that’s it…”

A third person shared: “Supposedly Nicky and Suni are leaving this month and with Ethan being killed off it means 3 gay characters are being axed and during pride month. The [bleep] betrayal!”

Emmerdale have been contacted for comment.

However, given Belle’s clear discomfort at the situation, surely Wendy must have suspected that something might be amiss.

Fans have predicted that Wendy will be the one to help take Tom down.

Who was Wendy married to on Emmerdale?

As fans have pointed out, nurse Wendy is no stranger to abusive marriages. Ex-husband Ross Posner was also physically violent towards Wendy, showing up in the village to torment her after they separated.

Given Wendy’s history with domestic violence, could she spot the red flags in Tom and Belle‘s relationship?
