Who plays Mason in Coronation Street? Luca Toolan has a well-known dad

Published

on

Coronation Street fans have recently met Mason Radcliffe as Luca Toolan joins the cast to play the newest bad boy in town.

Mason has appeared in a small scene before when he made fun of Ruby Dobbs earlier in September. However, now he’s set to be at the centre of a major storyline this autumn.

As Mason begins to influence Dylan Wilson and bully Liam Connor things are set to get serious.

But away from the cobbles, Mason actor Luca feels “lucky” to be part of the Corrie cast in his first TV role. However, despite making his TV debut on Coronation Street, he’s no stranger to the spotlight – and has a very well-known dad.

Who is Mason Radcliffe on Coronation Street

Bully Mason is in Year 11 at Weatherfield High. He’s taken Dylan under his wing and together they are giving Liam a hard time. Though it’s clear Mason is the ring leader.

After Liam ends up skipping school and vaping to impress Mason, he has an asthma attack. Liam is taken to hospital where Maria is fuming with her son for taking such a risk.

Meanwhile, Gary knows the Radcliffe family and is soon telling Maria they are so notorious they need to keep Liam away from Mason.

However, as the bullying intensifies both pupils and parents will go head to head. But will Sean, Maria and Gary find a way to work through this for the sake of their sons? The storyline is set to run for at least six months so we’ll get used to Mason being on our screens.

Who plays Mason in Corrie?

Mason is played by Luca Toolan. He is 19 years old and this is his first proper TV job, however he has appeared in short films too.

Luca’s dad is in fact in the industry himself. Mike Toolan is a well-known radio DJ. He presents the drivetime show on Hits Radio alongside former Emmerdale star Gemma Atkinson. Though she’s currently on maternity leave and Corrie alumni Brooke Vincent has stepped into her shoes.

Brooke, who played Sophie Webster on the soap, has even given Luca some advice, saying on the radio show yesterday: “Luca, you are going to have a ball, I can already see it, it’s such a nice place to work. The dinners are always nice, the canteen is amazing… that’s the best thing! If it’s got good coffee, and good food, and good people Luca, you’ll always want to go back!”

Luca on his Corrie role

When Luca got the part in Corrie, he says the first person he called was his dad. Luca hadn’t even told him he was auditioning before revealing he’d been cast.

“The first person I rang was my dad,” Luca said. “He was just in complete shock. He knows how much of a big deal it is and understands how lucky I am to be in the position that I am.

“I also rang my Grandma as she is a massive Corrie fan, she didn’t believe it and thought I was pulling her leg!”

Of his character, Luca added: “He’s a very angry and disturbed soul. People are like that for reasons. Hopefully in the future, we might be able to explore a little bit more of why he’s become the way he’s become.”

He also revealed Corrie “just feels like a family, everybody’s so nice” and that it’s “the perfect place to work”.

I’m A Celebrity  viewers were left in hysterics after fans spotted a signal from Alan Halsall to his daughter.

The epic finale aired last night (December 8), and all the former campmates were there to show their support.

But it seems one celeb in particular caught viewers’ attention – all thanks to his pose.

Right before Ant and Dec announced Danny Jones as the King of the Jungle, the camera showed all the previous campmates.

While many of them smiled and waved, Alan took the opportunity to give his daughter Sienna one final heart.

It has become a staple for him over the last three weeks. Any time Ant and Dec were heading into camp to tell them anything, Alan would make the heart hands. A symbol for his daughter back home.

While it was only a brief second, many viewers spotted it and found it absolutely hilarious.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), I’m A Celeb viewers couldn’t help but share their thoughts.

One wrote: “Alan had to get one last heart in didn’t he lmao.”

Another added: “Alan doing his heart hand again hahahahaha.”

“Alan’s last heart sign :(“, a third penned.

Throughout his whole time on the show, Alan spoke a lot about Sienna, who is just 11-years-old. He openly spoke about how his goal in the jungle was to make her proud, and it seems like he has done just that.

Alan was also eager to speak to Sienna as soon as he left the camp, so we’re sure she has told him how much she loved watching.

I’m A Celebrity finale

Many of the jungle celebrities had secret signals to their loved ones back home, but none were just as obvious as Alan’s.

The I’m A Celebrity finale marked the end of what has been described as “the best season ever.”

While Danny was favourite to win from the moment he walked into the camp, it was a hard one to call for everyone back home, as both him and Coleen seemed to have hoards of supporters.

Luckily for viewers who aren’t ready to say goodbye to this year’s campmates, they have one last chance. The coming out show airs this Friday on ITV.

The latest series of I’m A Celebrity is available to watch on demand on ITV.

I’m A Celebrity host Ant McPartlin was left wiping away the tears following a reunion between Coleen Rooney and her sons.

During Sunday’s episode (December 8) Danny Jones became the King of the Jungle. Coleen meanwhile, was declared the runner-up, while Richard Coles took third place.

But things took an emotional turn when Coleen reunted with her sons, causing host Ant to cry.

Coleen was clear that she was vying for the coveted title to make her sons proud, and they came to the jungle to support their mum.

Last night, Danny was crowned the King after millions of people picked him against Coleen.

The mum of four enjoyed her journey on I’m A Celebrity, nevertheless, and gave a shout-out to her fellow campmates after she became the runner-up.

I’m crying

Speaking to Ant & Dec, Coleen said: “It was amazing. I didn’t think I would get this far. So, this is a massive feeling for me.”

“Danny truly deserves it. So does everyone else. It was a fantastic camp. I was just happy to share the journey with everyone,” she continued.

The hosts then pointed to the other side of the room where Coleen’s mum waited with her two sons. The WAG – who briefly reunited with her kids earlier on this week- goes on to hug Kit and Cass in an emotional reunion leaving Ant tearful.

An emotional Ant is seen rubbing his eyes as he says: “I’m crying.” He and his co-host proceed to crown the new king in the presence of Sam Thompson – winner of the last series.

I’m A Celebrity moment

Obviously, viewers couldn’t overlook Ant’s crying. A significant number of them feel the hosts “loved this group” so much that they couldn’t help but tear up when the time came for them to part ways.

Even Ant is tearing up

Reacting to the special moment, one fan wrote: “You know Ant & Dec have enjoyed the celebs when they’ve got Ant crying.”

“Ant crying. It’s literally been the best group of campmates this year and you can tell Ant & Dec have loved this group so much,” said another.

One fan who couldn’t contain their emotions over the family reunion in the final episode said: “Even Ant is tearing up.”

I’m A Celebrity fans complain over ‘boring’ final

Published

I’m A Celebrity concluded last night (December 8) with Danny Jones being crowned the King of the Jungle.

In the final alongside the McFly singer was Coleen Rooney, a fan favourite to win the 2024 series until last week. However, she came second.

Although the finale began with a spine-chilling Bushtucker Trial in which Coleen, Danny, and Rev Richards collected stars while surrounded by snakes, viewers found it dull and less entertaining than expected.

I’m A Celebrity 2024 finale

The coveted title was given to Danny after spending three weeks in the jungle. Hosts Ant and Dec said the final two contestants received a total of 10 million votes between them.

The I’m A Celebrity finale had a little bit of everything –  interesting trials, final moments in the camp and one-on-one interviews with the finalists. The episode also had montages showing the highlights of the season.

Viewers waited with bated breath in anticipation of this year’s winner, only to be disappointed by “lengthy” interviews and endless “teasing”.

After the third finalist Richard spoke about his time in the jungle, Coleen and Danny met with the hosts to share their respective experiences.

The rest of the campmates joined the finalists before the winner was announced, which didn’t happen until the last four minutes of the final episode.

The finale ended soon after the winner of the 2023 series, Sam Thompson, crowned the new King.

Viewers were ‘bored’

Ahead of the announcement of the winner, one fan complained: “Final just being a bunch of interviews and montages. This is so boring man, just announce the winner already.”

“I’m knackered, can we wrap it up now?” asked another. A third fan said: “Can they get on with the reveal now? The droning on is driving me mad.”

Another added: “I’m A Celeb final is actually the most boring part of the whole show if I’m being honest.”

Despite complaints about an uninteresting finale from a few viewers, the overall series is met with positive reviews. One wrote on X: “A great series and a back to a series that I enjoyed watched after two bad years. Everyone was very genuine and it was nice to see everyone getting on.”

Loved all the campmates this year but the final two felt a bit rigged. But a lot of people did love them so fair play; they just weren’t my choice. Great series though,” opined another.

The latest I’m A Celebrity series is available to stream on demand on ITV.
