Strictly fans have expressed concern for Les Dennis ahead of this weekend’s show.

Poor Les finished last on the leaderboard last weekend following his Tango with pro partner Nancy Xu. They bagged a total of 16 points out of 40.

Ahead of week two, the dances and songs for the celebs and their pro partners have been revealed – and some fans are a bit worried for Les!

Les and Nancy will be performing the Samba to The Hues Corporation’s Rock the Boat. Discussing the news on a Strictly fan page on Facebook, some people fear about Les’ future on the show.

One Strictly Come Dancing fan commented: “Looks like they want Les out first,” followed by a sad emoji.

Another wrote: “This is what they did to Ed Balls, Ann Widdecombe and John Sergeant. Look how long they lasted.”

A third added: “Exactly what I thought.”

However, someone else added: “Can’t think of a single dance which would give him a good chance of staying in, to be fair.”

Another added: “He is trying to be funnier than he is, but I hope that he can get to movie week at least!”

Looks like they want Les out first.

So what other dances can we look forward to this weekend?

Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk will dance the tango while Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima will perform a quickstep.

Meanwhile, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola will dance the foxtrot while Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice perform the salsa.

My Mum, Your Dad viewers fume over series two contestants: ‘Come on, Davina!’

My Mum, Your Dad returned tonight for a brand new series as the single contestants entered the retreat.

The ITV dating show, hosted by Davina McCall, saw the likes of Andy, Clare, Christian and Vicky among the single parents. Their grown-up kids watched on from a different location.

Unlike the first series last year, for series two, the parents are fully aware that their children are watching them and will be behind all the dating decisions.

However, as viewers tuned in tonight, some issued the same complaint over the contestants.

Many took issue with the contestants looking like Love Island stars. One person commented on Instagram: “I know we wanted a Love Island for the older people, but we also asked for it to be for the ‘normal’ people.

“All these are older versions of the Love Island casts.”

Come on Davina, why are they all tall, slim and stunning – where’s the ‘normal’ people?

Another wrote: “Such a shame this year it’s like Love Island for older people no normal ladies.”

Someone else tweeted: “Come on Davina, why are they all tall, slim and stunning – where’s the ‘normal’ people?”

Another replied: “Exactly! They don’t realise how much more these shows would be with Sharon from the laundrette and Dave from down the road would be.”

Meanwhile, others were busy talking about another aspect of the show – the pretty incredible soundtrack!

One gushed: “Only flicked on #MyMumYourDad to pass the time, but the soundtrack is top tier.”

Another said: “Whoever came up with the soundtrack for #MyMumYourDad deserve a pay rise.”

Someone else added: “Forgot how EPIC the soundtrack to #mymumyourdad is @ThisisDavina.”

Speaking about the new series, Davina said in a video on Instagram tonight: “It’s the most amazing, heartwarming programme where we’ve got a bunch of midlifers, mums and dads, looking for love.

“[Who have] the greatest kids ever who are so invested in their happiness. It means so much to them.”

My Mum, Your Dad continues on ITV on Tuesday (September 17) from 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Coronation Street confirms details of upcoming Bethany Platt botched surgery storyline

The ITV soap Coronation Street has announced today (Monday, September 16), that Bethany Platt will soon fall ill as a result of a botched cosmetic surgery.

The Weatherfield journalist will soon head to Turkey for work purposes but will undergo a procedure herself.

Bethany will then suffer a life-threatening infection that will see her family and friends fear for her future.

Coronation Street: Bethany Platt set for botched surgery storyline

Tonight on Corrie, viewers would’ve seen Bethany accept a job from Debbie. She’d agreed to head out to Turkey to write some advertorials for Debbie’s friend’s cosmetic surgery company.

At the end of the episode, she could be seen deep in thought as she flicked through the brochure of cosmetic procedures on offer.

Coronation Street has now confirmed that Bethany will have a procedure done herself, but this botched surgery will end up putting her life at risk as she suffers an infection.

Bethany will then get sepsis and will have to live with a permanent stoma and will have to learn to get used to living with a stoma bag.

In upcoming scenes, Daniel will receive a phone call and will rush to Turkey to be by Bethany’s side. He will then attempt to raise the funds needed for Bethany to return home as she can’t leave the country due to an issue with travel insurance.

This storyline reflects increasing statistics of those who undergo cosmetic surgery needing hospital treatment, with these figures increasing by 94 per cent in three years, as of 2023.

Lucy Fallon speaks out about new plot

Speaking out about her involvement in the soap’s new storyline, actress Lucy Fallon shared: “When I first heard about it I was pleased that they have trusted me with it because it’s an important storyline and of course I really enjoy doing issue based storylines. Obviously this is really hard-hitting, which is exciting from an actor’s point of view, but it does come with quite a lot of pressure and responsibility to get it right because this happens to real life people.

“The storyline is also incredibly important as there’s countless horror stories out there of people talking about their experiences of cosmetic surgery abroad. I really hope this storyline can make people rethink going abroad for cosmetic surgery.”

Coronation Street working with Colostomy UK

The soap is also working closely with Colostomy UK to portray the storyline as accurately and as sensitively as possible.

Giovanni Cinque, Marketing & Campaigns Manager at Colostomy UK, detailed: “We’re really excited that one of the UK’s most loved TV shows is going to feature a major character living with a stoma.

“Even though public awareness has grown considerably over the last few years thanks to a number of celebrities revealing they have had surgery, the challenges that the 200,000 plus people living with a stoma in the UK face are less known, which means that we as a society and as individuals are not as aware as we should be of the choices that we can make to positively improve their quality of life.

“We really hope that Bethany’s journey will go a long way in helping to educate the audience, and thus help to create a more Stoma Aware UK. It’s also been a pleasure for us to work with the behind-the-scenes teams at Coronation Street on this story.”

Where the ITV My Mum, Your Dad 2023 couples are now

My Mum, Your Dad begins tonight on ITV for another series of love and drama.

Following the 2023 series being such a hit, ITV is bringing back the Davina McCall-fronted dating show with a fresh set of parents and their kids.

But with a new series starting with new faces, let’s see who are still together from the 2023 series…

My Mum, Your Dad on ITV

For a recap – or a summary if you’ve never seen it (you should btw!) – the show focuses on a group of single parents who have been nominated by their grown-up children to find love.

The single parents live together in a stunning country retreat and try and find true love. However, what they don’t know is that their kids are behind all the twists and turns throughout the series.

Their children watch their every move from a nearby location and are given opportunities to select who they’ll match with who for dates.

So, let’s revisit last year’s series and see who are still going strong and who have called it quits…

Roger and Janey

Lovebirds Roger and Janey became favourites on the first series after finding love. And the good news is they’re still together!

Janey entered the retreat at a later date and instantly connected with Roger – who had lost his wife to cancer 18 months prior.

I just wanted to have children, be married and sing. So I’ve done two of them.

The couple are still very much loved up, and recently celebrated their one-year anniversary. Appearing on Lorraine today (September 16), the pair gushed over their relationship.

Janey gushed: “It’s been really lovely.”

They also addressed engagement rumours recently. Speaking to the MailOnline, Janey said: “I would love to get married. I just wanted to have children, be married and sing. So I’ve done two of them.”

Roger added: “I agree with the sanctity of marriage. I’m looking forward to making lots more happy memories. I feel the sky’s the limit.”

Elliott and Sharon

Elliott and Sharon struck up a romance in the My Mum, Your Dad retreat. They seemed to connect on a deep level and even left the show as a couple.

However, in November last year, reports claimed the pair had split. A source said at the time: “Elliott and Sharon had every intention of making their relationship work, but they knew it was always going to be tough.

“With Elliott’s job, he could only really come up to see Sharon out of term time and she’s had her own life-changing issues to deal with, namely her mother’s passing. They split on good terms and will remain friends.”

Natalie and Paul were another couple who announced their split after the show ended.

Natalie said on her Instagram: “It has been a very bittersweet week for me. We ended in August so I have had some time to process things before the show aired. It was weird watching it back and seeing the hope and excitement that I had definitely has brought up feelings again.”

At the time, a source claimed that “balancing life on the outside with nurturing their fledgling relationship proved too tricky”.

Meanwhile, with Natalie in Bournemouth and Paul in Bath, the distance was reportedly a hurdle.

Monique and Martin M

Monique and Martin M seemed to connect in the My Mum, Your Dad house.

However, it didn’t carry on outside of the retreat. Speaking to OK! Magazine in October 2023, Monique said she hadn’t gone back on dating sites as she had found somebody from outside of the show.

She said: “We’ve been on one date and it’s been amazing, I’ve got another planned this weekend.”

Meanwhile, Martin M – who caused a stir on the show thanks to his “player” behaviour – confirmed he was single after the show ended.

He said he would “definitely like to pursue some sort of reality TV because it’s just the start for me”.
