Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal said that the political alliance with Congress, as part of the INDIA bloc, is temporary, stating that they only came together to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“The AAP is not in a permanent marriage with Congress. Our aim is to defeat the BJP for now and end the dictatorship and goondagardi of the present regime,” Kejriwal said in an interview.

The Delhi Chief Minister noted that AAP and Congress joined forces wherever necessary to challenge the BJP.

“It is important to save the country. AAP and Congress came together wherever an alliance was needed to defeat the BJP and put up one candidate. The BJP does not have any existence in Punjab,” Kejriwal added.

Kejriwal also claimed that the AAP would bag at least 15 out of 22 seats in this Lok Sabha elections in the national capital.

The Delhi CM made these comments in an interview with TV broadcaster India Today, which aired on Wednesday.

‘No question of resigning as Delhi CM’

During the interview, Kejriwal made it clear that he will not resign as Delhi Chief Minister even after his interim bail ends on June 1 in the money laundering case related to the excise policy scam.

“My going back to jail is not an issue. This country’s future is at stake… Let them jail me for as long as they want, I will not be cowed down.”

“There is no question of resigning as Delhi Chief Minister only because the BJP wants me to,” he added.

The Supreme Court granted Kejriwal 21 days of interim bail on May 10, requiring him to surrender on June 2.

A Pune Police source said local MLA Sunil Tingre, whose name has repeatedly come up in connection with the accident from Day 1, received “45 missed calls” from Vishal Agarwal — the father of the juvenile accused — on the night of May 19

Numerous questions have been raised regarding the use of money and political power to influence the outcome of the Pune Porsche accident case. Local MLA Sunil Tingre, whose name has repeatedly come up in connection with the accident from Day 1, received “45 missed calls” from Vishal Agarwal — the father of the juvenile accused — on the night of May 19, a Pune Police source told News18.

Not only have links between local MLA Sunil Tingre and Agarwal surfaced, but it seems the NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader is also connected to Sassoon Hospital’s Dr Ajay Taware, who was arrested for allegedly switching the minor’s blood samples. According to a statement issued by him a day after the accident on May 20, it is already established that Tingre was present at the Yerawada police station till 6 am. He has, however, denied that he tried to put pressure on the police, but now his party has also asked him to provide an explanation in the matter.

A police source told News18 that Tingre received 45 missed calls between 2.30 am and 3.45 am on May 19 night, but they all apparently went unanswered as he was asleep. However, Agarwal later rushed to the MLA’s house to pick him up when failed to answer his calls, the source said.

Tingre’s letter from May 20 also establishes he was there till 6 am, when he said he learnt about the deaths of the two IT professionals and asked the police to take action as per the law. But, it has now come to the fore that he is also connected to one of the arrested doctors from Sassoon hospital.

NCP MLA subvert the investigation

The source further told News18 that it was the MLA who recommended Dr Taware for the top job at the premier medical institution in Pune, despite knowing about his sketchy past. While the Maharashtra government has decided to take strict accident against the hospital employees involved in tampering with the evidence, Dr Taware has claimed that it was Tingre who called him to switch the teenager’s blood samples, the source added.

Top NCP (Ajit Pawar) sources told News18 that Tingre has been asked to clarify his stance before the media. After his name has repeatedly emerged in the case, party sources said he has been asked to provide an explanation about the new evidence. Accordingly, the MLA is likely to hold a press conference in Pune in a day or two.
